Tips for getting the right fit

1. Avoid buying shoes for your child that are too big. Incorrectly sized footwear can damage feet.
   
   
2. Have your child walk around in the shoes inside on a carpeted surface. The shoe should bend where the foot naturally bends.
   
   
3. Have your child wiggle their toes. There should be enough room in the toe box to wiggle, but not so much that the heel slips.
   
   
4. If your child is between sizes, a general rule is to order up to the next half size.
   
   
5. If your child has a narrow foot and the shoe isn't offered in a narrow width, you may want to go down a half size.
   
   
6. If your child has a wider foot and the shoe isn't offered in a wider width, you may want to go a half size up to give the ball of the foot and the toes more space.
   
   
7. It's normal for one foot to be larger than the other; fit against the larger foot.
   
   
8. Have your child try on the shoes indoors on a carpeted surface--this will protect the shoes in case you need to return or exchange them.
